Notifications for ICWSM-12 papers went out on Monday! There have been some questions about the paper acceptance categories, and we will clarify here.
Full papers (regular or short talks) are all eight pages long. There are two types: (1) regular oral talks; and (2) short lightning talks accompanied by a poster. Our single-track format meant that we could not allocate time for longer talks for all the full papers. There will be no distinction in the proceedings between full papers accompanied by longer or shorter talks.
Poster papers (no talks) are all four pages long. Poster papers were selected from those who chose to write poster papers originally, and invited from strong full paper submissions that could not be accepted as full papers due to the overwhelming number and quality of submissions. The poster format will allow authors to showcase their work for the ICWSM community while not precluding future publications.
